NMB48 (baca "NMB Forty-eight") adalah grup idola yang dihasilkan oleh Yasushi Akimoto. Group ini tampil di NMB48 Theater di basement Ya-Namba Building di Namba, Osaka.
NMB48 milik Kyoraku Yoshimoto Holdings Co, Ltd, sebuah perusahaan patungan dari Yoshimoto Kogyo Co, Ltd dan Kyoraku Sangyo Co, Ltd Nama "NMB" berasal dari "Namba" di distrik Minami di Osaka.
NMB48 debutnya pada tanggal 9 Oktober 2010, dan terdiri dari 26 anggota sebagai Tim Kenkyūsei. Namun satu anggota mengundurkan diri dari group karena sakit. Dari 25 anggota yang tersisa, 16 yang dipromosikan ke Tim N pada tanggal 10 Maret 2011.

- December 31, 2010 - Appearance in the 61st NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen as one of the sister group of AKB48
- January 1, 2011 - The first performance at NMB48 Theater "Dareka no Tame ni"
- February 1, 2011 - Sayaka Yamamoto and Miyuki Watanabe's taking part in the Fukumame-maki Event at Tsutenkaku
- February 14, 2011 - Starting promotion of the terrestrial digital TV broadcasting in the Kansai region.
- March 22 and 23, 2011 - Taking part in the 3rd Okinawa International Movie Festival.
- April 16, 2011 - Sayaka Yamamoto and Miyuki Watanabe's taking part in AKB48 handshake event "Sakura no Ki ni Narou" at Kyocera Dome Osaka. Team N performed a mini-live in the event.
- After the 2nd Generation audition, 23 participants debuted as the 2nd Generation Kenkyusei at the AKB48 Group event at Tokyo Dome City Hall on June 5, 2011.
